We had the pleasure of spending last weekend with the amazing Ford crew for the C-MAX eco-retreat in Ojai, CA. Not only was the ride impressive---but the digs were nice too. Located about an hour north of Los Angeles, this is the perfect getaway for anyone who needs a break from city life.
Stringed lights and perfectly landscaped greens surrond the tucked away resort, which has a Spanish inspired look that feels more like a sprawling ranch and less like a temporary hotel. You'll feel like you're in a expertly curated Pinterest board.
There are multiple pools throughout the facility but the "adult pool" is where you'll want to spend most of your time. Quiet, comfortable, relaxing, and an attentive staff that waits on your every need. If you've got rugrats with you, there are plenty of dedicated pools that are as equally cool with cannonballs and pool toys as they are with a piña colada and a good book.
The golf course was impressive, boasting photo-worthy views and perfect maintenance. Unlimited golf packages are available, which is a must if you plan on hitting the course one or two times a day.
If golf isn't for you, there are plenty of other ways to stay active during your stay. A high-end tennis facility and gym with hourly workout classes are also on site. Waking up to outdoor yoga in the hot sun is a treat.
The restaurants and bars within the resort gates were also top-notch. There's fine dining experiences waiting for you, but you'll probably end up spending most of your time at Jimmy's Pub. An upscale bar/lounge that's just as appropriate for a stiff drink after a round of 18 as it is for a late night dance party.
The little things are what really make this place special, though. The staff is best-in-class, the rooms themselves have fantastic touches, and you'll even find vintage board games scattered across the lobbies and lounge areas. A midday showdown of Scrabble is never a bad idea...
The surrounding areas are also worth exploring. From outdoor used book shops to olive oil farms---you'll have plenty to see and do if you can rip yourself away from the resort. We highly recommended a weekend getaway stay if you're a Southern California resident. And if you're not? It's absolutely a place worth flying in for. Book your room here.
